The European and American Solidarity Committee for Afrin (CSEA for Afrin – Espoir Afrin), is a group of Kurds of European and American nationalities from Afrin.
It is not affiliated to any political party and wants to be a representative of the civil society of Afrin and to defend its Kurdish identity by trying to do everything possible to ensure that Afrin will be liberated and that its inhabitants, who were forcibly expelled by the Turkish occupier, return to their villages, towns and ancestral lands.
The central office of Espoir Afrin is constituted obligatorily of Kurds having a European or American nationality. They are fluent in one or more European languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Flemish, etc.) and they have the personal qualities and the necessary scientific and cultural education to be the spokespersons of the Kurds of Afrin.
The objectives of Espoir Afrin
- To gather the Kurds from Afrin in the diaspora and in Syria in order to act together to liberate Afrin and to contribute to the construction of the new Syria. Espoir Afrin is convinced that the Kurds of Syria, as the 2nd people of Syria, are capable of playing a leading role in federating all the peoples of Syria to set up a modern state of law where all the peoples of Syria can practice their languages, cultures and beliefs in a mutual respect.
- Identify among them the competent and the upright men and women, keeping open- mindedness and the will to act together:
- To establish branches and representatives of Espoir Afrin in European and American countries and in other countries where they live.
- To set up specialized working groups and commissions, composed of people competent in their fields to act together and to accomplish an exemplary work, which would deserve to be followed by the other components of the Kurdish society at the national and international levels. These commissions would concern the following areas: Press and Media, IT and Website, Legal, Medical, Youth and Social Networks, Culture Art and Music, International and National Relations, Entrepreneurs and Businessmen, etc.)
- Collecting evidence and documents about the crimes committed in Afrin by the Turkish occupation army and its jihadist mercenaries.
- Organize debates, seminars and conferences in European and American countries to testify with facts that, it is thanks to the Kurdish fighters in Syria and Iraq; the Western allies have defeated the barbaric Islamic state of Daech. These joint fights prove that the Kurdish people are a reliable partner of the Western peoples and states and that they are fighting on the first front against the Sunni Islamic terrorism, supported by Turkey and its allies, and the Shiite Islamic terrorism supported by Iran and its allies. This partnership is one of the reasons why these regimes are fighting the Kurdish people and trying to eradicate them from their homeland, just as they have eradicated the Armenian people of Turkey and the Assyrian-Chaldean people of Iraq and Syria. The second reason is that the Kurdish people is fighting for the establishment of democratic states of law which respects the linguistic, religious and cultural freedoms of all the peoples in the region, where they will all act together to develop their countries and ensure their prosperity and contribute to regional and world peace.
- To make theses evidences known to parliamentarians, political party leaders and the peoples of European and American countries, using social media (press, radio, TV, Internet, etc.).
- To bring theses evidences to the official bodies of the European Union, the UN and the Security Council. The documented knowledge of the crimes committed by the Turkish occupation army and its jihadist mercenaries, added to the facts that the Kurds of Syria are also fighting against religious extremism, for the peace and stability of Syria and the Middle East, should incite the governments of the Western countries and the international organizations to assume their roles and put pressure on Turkey by forcing it to respect the international laws and conventions to stop its crimes and to withdraw from Afrin and the other illegally occupied Kurdish territories of Syria.
- To act as a pressure group at the level of each European country and at the international level to make the voice of the Kurds of Afrin heard, to make the culture of the Kurdish people known and to show that the Kurdish people are fighting for the same values of freedom, equality and democracy and the establishment of a rule of law in Syria. A democratic, secular and parliamentary Syria where all the peoples of Syria (Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Armenians, Turkmens, etc.) will have the right to manage their regions, to teach in their own languages, to practice their cultures and traditions, their beliefs and religions, whatever they may be: Yezidis, Christians (Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, etc.), Muslims (Sunnis, Shiites, Alawites, Druz, Ishmaelites, etc.), agnostics, unbelievers, etc..
- Espoir Afrîn fights hand in hand with its Kurdish compatriots in Turkey, Iraq and Iran for the establishment of states of law in each of these countries too. Secular, parliamentary and democratic states where all the peoples of each of these countries (Turks, Arabs, Persians, Assyrians, Balochs, Pashtuns, Azeris, Turkmen, etc.) will have the right to manage their regions, to teach in their languages and to practice their culture, traditions and beliefs.
